Today Mclovin and I headed out for a casual cruise in Lebanon and ended up with some solid riding.

40Z MIXTAPE 8 from 40z N shortyz.
New hotness from Bobert’s cam. I gotta say I’m really stoked on that bar on the storm door, yew! Everyone kills it in this and the last clip of Kyle getting the extra boost came out sick
features Bob, trigger, rob “gogglez” peffer, George “of the jungle” miller and kyle Evangelista with the ender. After taking a hit to the shoulder on our trip to Ohio/Pittsburgh I became curious as to why my bone sticks out the top of my shoulder.

When I first fell, I really thought I broke my shoulder. It felt like my shoulder was in a bra before and now it’s just hanging out all flat and pan cake titty like. It felt better even after a week. I can still use it. practically like normal. I found this little image as a guide from 1-6 of the severity of shoulder separations:
I’m pretty sure I tore a tendon or two though. My guess is that I have a class 3 type separation. I can use it almost every way normal, however bringing my arm across my chest is where it starts to feel strained and painful. I read further through Wiki’s description of separations and it looks like since the tendons don’t work anymore you have to build up your muscles around them. Which could take up to 12 weeks for it to feel completely back to normal. Anything worse than a type 3 separation requires surgery. Some say that even a type 3 should get surgery to avoid chances of getting arthritis.
I’ve been trying to do push ups and pull ups whenever I’m not riding to ensure that my shoulder gets some kind of workout. I can’t sleep on my left side at all (which is my favorite) so I’ve forced myself into just sleeping on my right side, back, and stomach. I used to really toss and turn in sleep and this has kind of forced me to stay still. Which might be a good thing. I feel progress with the strength and reach of my shoulder every few days, I have a feeling I’ll be feeling close to 100% soon enough.

This past weekend Josh and I got to ride, it’s not often we get to ride Saturday and Sunday being he works a different schedule than I do. For some reason the stars aligned and we got our shred on both days. Saturday we filmed a couple clips we have been itching to get filmed. Sunday was more of a chill day. We stocked up on some tubes then hit up some low key spots.

alright homie, explain the rail you were trying?
Well the rail I was trying definitely wasn’t out of my realm I could get on the rail every time perfectly. It was just real long and a matter of locking and holding on all the way.
do you think you would of landed it if you wouldn’t of fell that time?
I’m pretty sure I would have gotten the rail done if it wasn’t for that fall taking me out. I got most of the rail done a couple times I just would get a small wobble at the end and couldn’t get my weight over the rail again.
what were your immediate thoughts after you were rolling around in pain?
I immediately knew it was broken because it got real hot and tingly and then just started throbbing real bad
what was the verdict once you got to the hospital?
The doctor ended up telling me I had crushed my growth plate fractures the right side and split and bent the bone on the left side
how long will you be out for?
Even though I got messed up that bad it turns out im only out for a month with this cast.
chicks dig scars right?
I havent gotten any sympathy babes yet but I’ll keep you posted on wether the rate of income changes! haha
what are your plans after you can ride again?
I’m looking forward to get back on my bike for one I want to go back and bang out that rail. Even though it busted me up I don’t got any fear about it. Also I had mad shit planned for that trip so hopefully we can get back out there and I can finish my business and I was also looking to do this foot jam on a roof in my area so hopefully recovery time goes quick.

Loughead.
Matt Loughead sent over this pic of a huge double peg in Thorndale. Holy shit!
