A live performance by Verb the Noun.
at The Quarter , Harrisburg PA

Drums- Seth
Guitar- Mark
Bass- Corey
Guitar- Sean

Some of you may already familiar with my cousin Seth. He’s pretty darn awesome behind a camera lens. What some of you might not know is that he’s pretty kick ass behind a set of drums too. Recently, my cousin invited me to see his band, Verb the Noun‘s first show. My other cousin, Mark is also in the band. An excuse to hang out with my family, jam out, and have a good time? I’m in.

I’m really into their music. Maybe with some grace they’ll let me use a song in a Yea edit sometime =] They are currently looking for a vocalist as well. If you know anyone interested check out their Facebook.

One week to go.

One week down, one more  week to go with The Yea Tee pre-orders.  The response has been awesome! thank you to all of you who have pre ordered so far. Pre-orders are going to last for another week and then the orders will sent off to the printers.

if you haven’t heard the details yet:

The shirts are printed on American Apparel 50/50 tees with custom neck label print and a hand printed & sewn tag at the bottom hem. My wonderful mother is going to be helping me attatch the custom tags at the bottom hem of the shirts. I love you mah! Each shirt also is going to come with a signed and numbered card stating what edition it is along with a special message from me.

As the shirts near being done, I’m going to document the process on here, The Yea. So you guys can see exactly what’s going on behind the scenes. It’s going to be a lot of hard work and a really fun process. Pre-order one here, and watch your shirt get made. Thanks & Love -ms

Stranger in L.A.

Found on tumblr, also posted on TCU, this Stranger video is too good not to post. I’ve recently been on a Portlandia kick and the fact that they used the Portlandia theme song for it makes it even sweeter for me. Dope riding from the whole crew, especially DBG and Craig Passero. Good stuff.

Fellow The Yea contributor, Matt Steiner, shot me over a new lil video of his current music project.  I can’t help but nod my head to it.  I’m really excited to see these guys in the future. They have a real distinct sound that I’m really digging. If you want to see a few more video of their progress check them here. \m/

Today is a big day.  Did y’all enjoy that warm weather? I know it’s gone away but it’s coming back again soon. And soon it’ll be tee shirt weather again. Which means you need to reup your kit! I’ve just finished putting the final touches on the new Yea Shop. Head over there and pre-order any of the 4 new designs for spring. The pre-order is going to last for two weeks. Pre-order to get them before anyone else. And the shirts will be available for normal sale by mid March.

The shirts are printed on American Apparel 50/50 tees with custom neck label print and a hand printed & sewn tag at the bottom hem. My wonderful mother is going to be helping me attatch the custom tags at the bottom hem of the shirts. I love you mah! Coma Cinema.

Along with Com Truise, I recently discovered Coma Cinema. I really dig the vibe. The first song I heard from them is Come on Apathy! I checked out his site and he has all of is albums up for free download.  In a time where so many people are getting sued for downloading Shania Twain, it’s nice to see someone putting out some quality tunes for free.

Coma Cinema is Mat Cothran, a musician from South Carolina. He has been writing and performing music since 2005, self recording two albums on different machines in a variety of basements, bedrooms, and abandoned locales. -last.fm

The video above is for his newest single, Blissed. A very interesting concept done beautifully.  For an added bonus check out his youtube page for another interesting video / track called Flower Pills.

Happy Friday

Komputer Cast.

Sometimes we thirst for new music.  It’s exciting, just like the seasons are changing.  One artist who I can’t get enough of right now is Com Truise. While I was browsing his website, I found what looks like a little podcast that he compiles of various artists as well as himself and gives it out for free. I downloaded Vol. 4 and I’m impressed. Very synth heavy. I can’t really explain how I’m just drawn to it.  It sounds so familiar yet I’ve heard nothing like it.  I love sitting down and designing to it.  I have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot more of Com Truise in the future.

Quintin Hats.

As seen on Defgrip, Quintin put up a new website. I also noticed a slew of web videos uploaded to their Vimeo account. I checked them out and they all seem to be quick, one clip edits. I really love the art direction and the one clip idea. Showing signs of real passion and determination in  someone’s work. Awesome shit Quintin.
